Pregnancy

Pregnancy is the condition of carrying a developing embryo or fetus within the female body. It begins with the fertilization of an egg by sperm and results in the formation of a zygote, which then undergoes a series of stages, including implantation in the uterus and subsequent growth and development over approximately nine months. The typical duration of pregnancy is divided into three trimesters, each marked by distinct developmental milestones and changes in the mother’s body. Pregnancy leads to various physiological changes, including hormonal fluctuations, increased blood volume, and adaptations in the reproductive system, all aimed at supporting the developing fetus. The culmination of pregnancy is childbirth, when the fetus is delivered through the vagina or by cesarean section.
