Football

Football, known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score by getting the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet to control and move the ball, but they may also use any part of their body except their arms and hands (goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area). The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. Matches are typically composed of two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a halftime interval.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular sports globally, with significant followings in Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia. Major competitions include national leagues, the UEFA Champions League, and international tournaments like the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years. The sport is celebrated for its ability to bring people together and its cultural significance across different countries and communities.
